Classical heart. Breathing new life.

“Music is like breathing—something you know how to do,
but never fully understand how it happens."
A versatile artist, Uršula moves fluidly between roles as a creator, performer, and pedagogue. For Uršula Jašovec, composition is a search for the pulse behind the meaning. She approaches sound not just as structure, but as storytelling. Her deep love for the nature, human voice, ballet, and music for young audiences has led her to create works that resonate with diverse ensembles on prestigious stages—from the Slovenian Philharmonic to the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence in France.A Summa Cum Laude graduate under Pavel Mihelčič, her work has been recognized with the European Award for Choral Composers amongst others and described as possessing a "risky cleverness” and "persistent discovery of the unknown". Uršula is equally at home on the podium as she is behind the score.Currently teaching at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Ljubljana and GŠ Franca Šturma, she remains dedicated to finding the "living pulse" inside the music—whether conducting, composing, or mentoring the next generation.

For commissions, guest conducting, or score inquiries.
My days are usually spent in the quiet rhythm of the home or hiking in nature, writing musical scores and sketching new stories, or quite on a contrary in the vibrant energy of the classroom and the podium, conducting and teaching the next generation of musicians.
I believe music and art are best when they are shared. Whether you are a fellow musician, a curious student, or someone who stumbled upon my work, I’d love to hear from you.
I always welcome a message if:
You are interested in a Commission: Whether it’s a new choral work, a piece for your ensemble, or a custom illustration, I’d love to hear about the story you want to tell through music or art.You are an Educator: Tell me how my work is living in your classroom or how we can bring more "missing pieces" of history to your students. You have a "Missing Breadcrumb": If there is a forgotten female composer whose story needs to be told, tell me her name—I’m always looking for the next trail to follow.
